Dee Cascio – Biography

I believe that life is a series of phases that we all transition through. In my journey throughout my life, I have been fortunate to have had four separate careers. I began my first career in education as a classroom teacher after completing my B. A. in Education at Elmira College. I moved from New York to Virginia after completing my M. S. in Counseling at the University of Scranton.

During the second phase of my career, I gained valuable experience as a High School Counselor working with students, parents and teachers for 15 years. I combined my love of counseling with education preparing me well for the next phase of my life and career.

I began the third phase of my career as an entrepreneur by starting my own business, The Professional Counseling Center, Inc. I trained for and received my license to practice psychotherapy in the state of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m also a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, using skills specific to couples. I have had a successful private practice for the last 33 years helping individuals and couples achieve healthier, more satisfying lives. As I began my psychotherapy practice, I also married and became a step-parent.

The fourth phase of my career evolved from an interest in the field of coaching. I am a Certified Life Coach after graduating from Coach U. I am also a Certified Retirement Coach and ReCareer Coach through the Retirement Options Program. In both my psychotherapy and coaching practices, I enjoy helping people create the life they desire amidst the challenges of daily living and the many transitions we all experience.

I am also enjoying speaking to groups, agencies and businesses on various topic and issues related to Life and Work Transitions and Retirement Lifestyle planning.

My community memberships include Rotary International and the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce.
