Life is a series of seasons. Each brings changes—perhaps a new school, a life partner, a job promotion, children, life with teenagers or seniors in our home, the death of a loved one, recareering, a different location, handling health challenges, and planning for retirement.
All change carries with it the risk of the unknown and the unexpected. Some find these changes exciting and welcome the challenge. These people are able to go with the flow. Others follow the path of change reluctantly, dragging their heels all the way and feeling threatened. Perhaps their anxiety is caused by their fear that they won’t be able to navigate the change.
Learn to welcome change. Identify the fears that keep you from welcoming new seasons and changes in your life. Reflect on times you have successfully dealt with change. What lessons carry over to this season of life?
